The World of Shapes - National Mathematics Day celebrated in the Foundation Classes
The ability to accurately identify shapes is a foundational mathematical skill, and it is quite rewarding for children because their world is full of shapes.
The students of the Pre-Primary participated in several hands-on activities as a part of the National Mathematics Day Celebrations. They learned about 2D and 3D shapes and created their own original work of art using different shapes.
Their creativity reflected beautifully in their Christmas trees, Santa caps, Snowflakes, and 3D models that they made using paper straws.
Exploring the world of shapes enabled them to be more in tune with the world around them and see the connections between objects.
