A workshop focusing on the implementation of the National Curriculum Framework 2022 (NCF 2022) was held on April 20, 2024, at the MPH, Delhi Public School, Jaipur. Our 60 teachers attended the workshop. The workshop aimed to enhance teaching methodologies and curriculum development strategies specifically in the foundational stage for the age group of 3-8 years.
Ms. Indra Singh, Principal of Vivek Techno School and Rajan Sharma, PGT English from BITS Pilani, served as the resource persons. The Principal , Dr. Richa Prakash warmly welcomed and felicitated the resource persons. The event commenced with an ice-breaking activity where all attendees introduced themselves using an adjective, their name and a dish, following the order of the first letter of their name. This activity aimed to enhance vocabulary, concentration, listening skills and critical thinking.
Throughout the workshop, various key points were covered, including activity-based learning in the foundational stage and an understanding of the objectives of NCF 2022, which encompassed curriculum development, pedagogy and assessment.
The workshop also delved into the concept of "Panchkosha Vikas" - Fivefold Development - a keystone in Indian Tradition, including Annamaya Kosha, Prannamaya Kosha, Manomaya Kosha, Vigyanmaya Kosha and Anandmaya Kosha. The final outcome of learning these Koshas is to make each child a better citizen.
The importance of the Play Way method, literacy, and numeracy were also discussed, along with the 4Cs: Communication, Collaboration, Creative Thinking and Critical Thinking. NCF’s approach towards language learning education, its principles and embracing multilingualism in classrooms were emphasized, as well as the importance of parents being well-informed about their ward's education.
Balloon activity and riddles were among the myriad activities conducted during the workshop, adding an interactive and engaging element.
The workshop concluded with each group of teachers engaging in a storytelling activity using the Koshas, providing a practical understanding of the concepts discussed. A vote of thanks was given by Ms. Shalini Chaturvedi, marking the successful conclusion of the event.
