National Mathematics Day celebrated by the students of the Primary Classes
Mathematics is the universal language of patterns, shapes, and numbers that influences everything we do. With logic and reasoning, mathematics unveils the mysteries behind abstract ideas.
Students of Grades III -V engaged in brain Mathletics to celebrate National Mathematics Day. They learnt about the legendary mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan and his contributions to the world.
Class III did the ‘Happy Chris- Math’ activity, wherein they drew a large Christmas tree on a newspaper and decorated it with 2 D shapes. Through collaboration and teamwork, they made a summary of the number of 2 D shapes used. The students of class IV recapitulated times tables by playing 'Multiplication Bingo' and created beautiful sceneries using shapes.
The students of Class V displayed exemplary teamwork in identifying the shapes, measuring angles, and constructing 3 D shapes using straws and connectors in the ‘Geometry Relay Race’. They also prepared vibrant and colourful tessellation patterns.
It was heartening to see the students as they actively engaged themselves in practicing the concepts of mathematics through learning by doing.
