The one great stage to present global concerns through the battle of wits is what MUN conferences are all about.
MUN or Model United Nations is a simulation of the United Nations conference where
students role-play as delegates of different countries and attempt to solve real-world issues
with the policies and perspectives of their assigned portfolio. With this aim, Delhi Public School, Jaipur hosted an exhilarating Intra DPSJMUN'23 on December, 20 for the students of classes VIII, IX and XI.
The session witnessed four diverse committees namely AIPPM, UNEP, Security Council
and the General Assembly.
Delegates representing all political parties held meetings based on the introduction of the bill and understood the importance of a consensus. The different agendas discussed in all the committees were the Abrogation of Article 370 in AIPPM, the Role of the developed countries in the reduction of carbon emissions in UNEP, the Russia-Ukraine war and its impact on international peace and security in UNSC and Humanitarian loss Special reference to Palestine Israel war in UNGA.
Principal, Dr Richa Prakash Ghosh applauded the presentation and collaborative work of all the students as delegates, working in sync. She also appreciated the seamless efforts put into this activity by the mentors to make it a successful and enriching event.
The event concluded on a high note with the presentation of awards to the best delegates. Recognitions such as High Recommendation, Special Mention, and Verbal Mention were bestowed upon the outstanding participants, acknowledging their exemplary contributions and diplomatic prowess.
Students' enthusiastic participation contributed greatly to the success of this event and provided each one of them with a plethora of knowledge and vocational skills.
Overall, the DPSJMUN session showcased the students ' debating skills and their ability to present thorough researched arguments. The session honed the communication skills,
analytical understanding and critical thinking of each member and was able to provide desired opportunities.
