With such wishes and hopes in our hearts, the special assembly held on 9.11.2023 at Delhi Public School, Jaipur was a celebration of the festival of Diwali, showcasing various forms of artistic expression and spreading the message of joy and light. The assembly was conducted by the students of Grade I – XII and the theme was UTSAV: an amalgamation of festivals – Durga Puja, Dussehra and Diwali. The assembly began with a melodious Bhajan dedicated to Lord Rama by the students of Middle and Senior School, setting a spiritual tone for the event. The students' voices filled the stadium with devotion and reverence. Following the Bhajan, a group of talented students of Grade III – V, presented a mesmerizing dance performance based on the Ashtalakshmi Strotram, celebrating the eight forms of Goddess Lakshmi. Their graceful movements and expressions captivated the audience.
The budding poets of Grade VI, recited a heart-warming poem that depicted the significance of Diwali as a festival of light and triumph over darkness. In line with the school's commitment to environmental awareness, a group of students from Grade III –V enacted a nukkad natak (street play) advocating for a green Diwali. The play encouraged eco-friendly celebrations and highlighted the importance of air quality. The youngest talents of the school, the students from Grade 1 and 2, took the stage to deliver a soulful musical performance. Their innocence and enthusiasm charmed everyone in the audience.
The assembly concluded with a vibrant Nritya Natika presented by the students of the Middle and Senior school, a dance drama that portrayed the essence of Diwali. The students beautifully depicted the victory of good over evil and the jubilant celebrations that mark this auspicious occasion.
The principal, Dr Richa Prakash Ghosh, shared words of encouragement, emphasizing the importance of making efforts to create a sustainable environment. It was a moment of inspiration that lingered in the hearts of both students and teachers alike.
