*Garbha, a traditional Indian dance form rooted in Gujarati culture, is not just an art form but a celebration of life and fertility.*
To introduce our tinytots to this vibrant and culturally rich tradition, Delhi Public School, Jaipur organized a *Garbha Fest* for its youngest group of students that is Pre-Nursery - II on Friday, October 20, 2023.
The primary objective of this event was to familiarize toddlers with the Garbha dance form, its significance, and to foster a sense of cultural awareness.
The event commenced with a vibrant dance performance by the dance teachers. This provided the toddlers with a visual and auditory introduction to the dance form.
The children were encouraged to participate in an interactive session. They were taught a few basic Garbha steps, accompanied by simple, catchy music.
This hands-on experience allowed the children to connect with the dance form and get a feel of the cultural tradition.
To immerse the children in the spirit of the celebration, they were encouraged to dress in traditional Indian attire too.
Students of classes 1 and 2 also poured their feelings on paper by drawing pictures and writing a paragraph on the importance of Navratri and Dussehra in their creative writing notebooks.
The Dance Session not only introduced our students to the vibrant world of Garbha but also instilled in them a sense of cultural awareness and appreciation.
