Delhi Public School, Jaipur, celebrated World Photography Week from August 12 to August 26, 2023, and was enthralled to announce the first ever Photography Competition with an exciting event: "Unveiled Visions". This event, hosted by the school's Photography Club, Viewfinders, and backed by the school administration, was open to students, teachers, and parents, commemorating World Photography Day on August 19, 2023.
Participants were tasked with capturing the essence of various themes, including Nature, Wildlife, Architecture, Abstract, and Miscellaneous. Over a two-week period, they submitted both digital and printed copies of their photos, with each person allowed one entry per theme.
A panel of esteemed judges, Mr. Anil Khubani, a professional photographer, and Mr. Surendra Verma, an avid traveller, nature enthusiast, and photographer, meticulously evaluated the submissions. Their criteria emphasised composition, creativity, and technical prowess. Importantly, they offered constructive feedback to all participants. Following thorough deliberation, the winners were revealed in both the student and parent/teacher categories for each theme.
Divyanshi Dahiya from 9D bagged the first prize in Nature Category followed by Yash Agarwal from 8A and Naman Upadhyaya from X-F in the second position. Prachi Chauhan from 11-F bagged the first prize in the Wildlife category followed by Rohan Jeendgar from 12B in the second position. Ananyaa Bhargava from X-A bagged the first prize in the Architecture category followed by Yashvi Khandelwal from 11A in the second position. Aagam Tambi from 12H bagged the first position in Abstract category whereas Nandini Shukla, an ex-dipsite, took away the first prize in Miscellaneous category. Ms Anjana Swami, HM, scooped the first position followed by Mr Sandeep Shukla, a parent in the Parent-Teacher category.
The winning photographs, along with all submissions, were showcased during an exhibition at the Snakes and Ladders on August 25th and 26th, 2023, coinciding with parent-teacher meetings. This event garnered widespread appreciation, serving as a platform to foster photography as an art form and celebrate the diverse talents of our school community.
