Inter House English Debate Competition for Classes IX – XII
Delhi Public School, Jaipur organized an Inter House English Debate Competition for Classes IX – XII on 24 August, 2021. Extensive preparations included the selection round conducted by the six Houses’ In Charges to give a fair chance to all aspiring candidates. The event itself comprised two rounds- Extempore- Turncoat and Parliamentary. A total of 24 students enthusiastically participated and eloquently spoke on the relevant topics. It was a proud moment for the school to welcome the Guest of Honour, Mr. Arjun Rathore, Deputy Manager Times Group and the judges, Mr. Sudhanshu Kanth, an engineer, and Mr. Harshit Kacholiya, Political Science graduate from Delhi University, alumni of the school and candid and spirited debaters.
In her Welcome Address, the Senior School Head Mistress Ms. Anjana Swami, praised the achievements of the guest and the judges and highlighted the importance of human communication for progress in all fields. The Guest of Honour Mr. Arjun Rathore and the judges expressed their appreciation for the convincing and vehement rendering by the young debaters and shared some points with the young participants for future reference.
The Principal of the school, Ms. Rita P. Taneja praised the debaters and was appreciative of the relevant topics. She announced the much-awaited result. Arpit Agarwal and Naveena Vishnoi won the Extempore Turncoat Debate and Karishma and Sanvi won the Parliamentary Debate. Ganga House stood first and Chenab House bagged the second position.
