MUN Club organized two practice session.
Model United Nations or MUNs are academic simulation of the United Nations and its various organs. Participants take up the role of International Diplomats and Representatives of different countries. Participation in MUNs involves substantial researching, public speaking, debating, and writing skills, as well as critical thinking, teamwork, and leadership abilities.
The objective of MUNs is to develop important social skills such as teamwork, conflict resolution, negotiation, consensus-building, critical thinking, public speaking and focused, critical and comprehensive listening.
MUN Club of Delhi Public School, Jaipur organized two practice sessions on 7 June 2021 and 12 June 2021 respectively, for giving the students an exposure and an opportunity to inculcate aforementioned skills.
The agenda was the Israel-Palestine issue. Members of the MUN club from classes 9 and 11 participated with full enthusiasm. The Chairperson of the Committee was Yashowardhan Sharma of class 12. He was supported by Sujal Samdhani-Head of the MUN club of DPS, Jaipur.
The student representatives as Delegates from many different nations around the globe presented their views and the related issues were discussed. The possible solutions to the issue were raised with utmost professionalism and perfection. The sessions were successful in creating awareness among delegates about the ongoing events in the world and brief them about the Israel-Palestine issue.
The sessions were attended by the Principal Ma’am Rita Taneja and other educators to motivate the students. She appreciated the efforts made by the students of the MUN club for organizing the practice sessions. She also congratulated the delegates for participating in the event and expressing their views in an effective manner.
