“The power of a debate is the language and intellectual honesty of the debaters, alongside the engagement of spectators.”

An Inter House Virtual English Debate Competition was organised at Delhi Public School, Jaipur on Saturday, September 26, 2020.

The judges for the event were Ms Kamaljeet Yadav, Principal Subodh Public School, Sanganer and Ms Swati Vashishtha a Jaipur based journalist, writer and photographer.

The competition was held in two rounds -The Bilingual Turncoat and The Parliamentary round.

The aim of the competition was to hone public speaking skills of the students and teach them to be articulate while expressing their thoughts and opinions. The speakers of classes IX- XII of all six houses spoke eloquently on various topics.

The session was a kaleidoscope of opinions, thoughts, ideas and perspectives that definitely enhanced the knowledge and understanding of the topics among students.

The judges appreciated and applauded the efforts of the students and the organisers. They motivated the students with their inspirational words and encouraged them for future participation.

Principal Ms. Rita P. Taneja in her address congratulated the students for their outstanding performance and highlighted the importance of such programmes for the students.

She also thanked everyone for making this event a great success.

It was an erudite experience for both the participants as well as the other students.
