Delhi Public School, Jaipur, commemorated the seventh International Yoga Day on 21 June 2021 with great zeal and zest for a healthy and fit nation. The absolutely enchanting and relaxing session began with the welcome address of the Principal, Ms Rita P Taneja where she discussed the importance of meditation, benefits of pranayams not only for the physical well being but also for the mental and emotional health of the individuals. She urged the students and educators to practice yoga in their daily routine to make the most of the 24 hours of the day. She further stated that yoga revitalises, re-energizes and channelises our energy for a productive and active life style.
The Vice Principal, Mr Ravi Dutt also graced the occasion and reinforced the significance of a healthy and balanced lifestyle in today’s scenario. He motivated the students to give their best in every endeavor and wished them well.
The session began with the warm up exercises to get the students geared up for the various pranayamas and yoga asanas that were demonstrated virtually by the skilled yoga trainers of school . The students performed Tadasana,Vrikshasana, Ardha chakrasana, Anulom Vilom, Brahmari Pranayams and many more yoga asanas with great enthusiasm, gusto and discipline. The well defined yogic postures of everyone during the session were a treat to the eyes. The students also gained knowledge on the benefits of all the asanas and pranayamas. The parents were equally enthralled upon witnessing the young 'yogis' in the making and also expressed their gratitude towards the school management for instilling the importance of health and well-being in otherwise mundane online routine of students, given the pandemic. The students from class 1 to class 12, performing yoga, along with their parents stole the spotlight.
