Orientation Session for the students of Grade X (2020-21)
DPS, Jaipur achieved yet another milestone by organizing an online orientation session for the students of grade X on 14 December 2020, thus facilitating the young minds to take well informed decisions. The director Ms. Aditi Misra advised the students to ‘follow their passion’ because the time and effort invested in the venture come with enthusiasm and zeal thus making all the difference. The students and parents were provided an insight on the various subject combinations, to enable their wards to carefully ponder and make a choice of stream and subjects based on their aptitude, interest and personality. The principal Ms. Rita Taneja suggested that it was important for students to align their interests and skills with appropriate fields. Ms. Anjana Swami (AC Grade XI Science) and Ms. Puneet Khurana (AC Grade XI Commerce and Humanities) threw light on the various subject combinations offered by the school thereby empowering the students and parents to make fruitful decisions. A panel of alumni working in a variety of fields shared their personal journeys. They talked about professional successes and failures - and the lessons learned from both - as well as the challenges of balancing a robust career with a gratifying life beyond the workplace. The panel included Anmol Saxena (Humanities Stream), Gaurav Daga (Science Stream) and Praveen Joshi (Commerce Stream) who are professionals in their own fields now. The session had parents of Alumni discussing about the expectations they harboured while their children were in DPS, Jaipur and how the school had supported and guided the students in bringing out the best in them. The Deputy Dean (Students’ Welfare) of the school, Ms. Latika Choudhary further highlighted the intricacies of admission to prestigious Indian and foreign Universities. The Vice Principal, Mr. Ravi Dutt while delivering the vote of thanks urged the students to remain open to opportunities.
