Intra MUN 2020 - Closing Ceremony
Intra MUN 2020 - Closing Ceremony
While the first day of Intra-MUN, must have been just a starter, day two was raging fire. It had the greatest number of arguments, debates and discussions. The first timers took the lead and the experienced, put ahead valid arguments.
The AIPPM committee had the opposition and the ruling party talk like best friends. Their press session was as interesting as their moderated caucuses. While delegate representing Amit Shah kept raising motions, delegate representing Narendra Modi kept voting against them. The heat was on in UNGA as it remained the most productive committee despite the delegates spending more than half of duration in unmoderated caucuses which were full of varied ideas. But the real heat came in the General Assembly, when at the ‘Press Session’ the delegates had to face some very tough questions by the reporters. This provided more vision and depth to the purpose of discussion in the committee as the leaders were questioned about their resolutions.
Meanwhile, in UNHRC, delegates went onto discuss the sensitive issue of ‘Custodial Deaths’ raised by Egypt in which Myanmar had to blame the media for the spreading of ‘fake news’ just for a particular person. During this time, USA and Lebanon had a long discussion on ‘who is a psychologist?’ and had to face a press session too. Meanwhile UNCW continued to discuss women rights.
The shutterbugs toiled hard to get the best pictures they could. They fulfilled their job excellently, despite the increased difficulty in the task. The organising committees, chairs, vice-chairs and OC members simultaneously worked at their best to have their committees organised well. They provided some comfort to all the first timers and encouraged them to do better.
And that brought an end to an extravagant 2-day journey of new ideas and thoughts in form of the first virtual Intra-MUN organised by DPS Jaipur
